Crit 12/11/09

From the Crit I got a good response of feedback quite similar to the James Page Brief of having to make it more personal to the client and what I want to see in my portfolio. I also need to work on the outline of the N to make it more consistent as it still isn't and also on my presentation skills to make it fit better in context.
I also what to finish this brief in a week so what we need to be doing next is getting everything designed to the test it with different printing methods and processes, such as spotgloss, foiling etc.

What I want to do is test the business card on:

- Black on Black spotgloss
- White on Black spotgloss
- Matt printing
- Gloss printing on the front and matt on the back of the card
- Foiling the logo

What I want to is test the letterhead on:

- The front page black on black spotgloss
- The front page white on white spotgloss
- Matt printing on front page
- Back page on thin paper stock

Pitching the designs to the client

Sending this pitch to the client she has decided on the white N on a black card with a plain back showing the details using spotgloss.
The header will fit similar to this to work as a set.

Logo and Business Card Development

Here is the first process of the development of the logo, from the research I have focused my logo on line to show hair, and a style of glamorous, and stylish. From my drawings I have progressed them onto the computer.
I think a few of them work really well but the simple design is better to not make it look to busy.

Using the Chopin Script font I would like to progress this furthur to develop a simple but effective logo and business card using the colour theme black and white.

Here is some of the development of my business card front and back placing the logo I have chosen from above, looking a different layouts, colours, and styles.

Here is the chosen business card where we both me and Jaimini incorporated our designs together mine being the front of the card and Jaimini's being the back.

Here are some experiments with the spotgloss process, I think the black on black works well and looks more professional then the others it has more of a classy look and can also be seen better then the white and mirror card designs. Even though I do like the mirror card you cant really see the logo printed on it as well only if you really look at it under god lighting which in a way is good way and acts as a mirror to show an idea of looking at your hair in the mirror, but the whole point of the business card is to focus on the logo.
